NEW PATIENTS

We are here to guide you through your recovery

We understand that arriving at a chiropractors office for the first time can be nerve racking. Filling out paperwork, learning new faces and names, and getting to know your way around the office can be an overwhelming experience.

That’s why at Holly Cottage our aim is to remove any stressor causing unnecessary tension and to make you feel comfortable. In this area of the website you will be able to learn more about your inital visit prior to arriving, in the comfort of your own home.

WHAT TO EXPECT

At Holly Cottage Chiropractic Clinic, your care is structured in phases designed to support your recovery, improve your mobility, and help you stay well. Chiropractic treatment works best when it follows a step-by-step approach, starting with relieving pain and restoring function, then moving towards long-term stability and prevention. Each phase is tailored to your individual needs, with your chiropractor guiding you through the process and adjusting your care as your body responds and improves.

Phase 1…
RELIEF CARE

Let’s get you feeling better …

The first phase of your chiropractic journey focuses on relieving pain and reducing inflammation. Whether you’re experiencing back pain, neck discomfort, joint stiffness or headaches, the aim of relief care is to help you feel more comfortable as quickly as possible. Treatment during this phase may be more frequent, depending on the severity and duration of your symptoms. Your chiropractor will carefully assess your condition, explain your diagnosis, and begin gentle, targeted treatment to start easing your symptoms and restoring movement.

Phase 2…
CORRECTIVE/
RESTORITIVE CARE

Let’s change things for the future …

Once your pain has started to ease, the next phase focuses on addressing the underlying causes of your symptoms. Corrective or restorative care aims to improve spinal function, strengthen supporting muscles, and promote better movement patterns to help prevent symptoms from returning. Treatment may continue at a reduced frequency during this phase, and your chiropractor may introduce tailored exercises or lifestyle advice to support long-term improvement. This stage is all about building a stronger, more stable foundation for your health.

Phase 3…
REHABILITATION & PREVENTATIVE CARE

In the final phase of care, the focus shifts to maintaining the progress you’ve made and supporting your overall wellbeing. Wellness and rehabilitation care is designed to keep your spine and nervous system functioning well, reduce the risk of future flare-ups, and help you stay active and pain-free. This phase may include occasional chiropractic check-ups, ongoing posture and exercise advice, and continued support with lifestyle habits that promote long-term health. Many patients choose to continue care at this stage to stay feeling their best.

    TREATMENT & REHABILITATION

Chiropractic treatment at Holly Cottage is always personalised — there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Your care will depend on your age, health, condition, and personal goals. Whether we’re helping a teenager with postural issues, an expectant mother with pelvic discomfort, or an older adult with joint stiffness, we adapt our techniques to suit each individual safely and effectively.

Your treatment plan may include a combination of chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue massage, dry needling, stretching, or soft tissue release techniques. We also provide tailored advice on posture, movement, and lifestyle changes to support your recovery and long-term wellbeing. Our aim is to help your body function at its best — comfortably, confidently, and in a way that works for you. Specific rehabilitation exercises will form part of this programme to make things bespoke to you.

    PREVENTATIVE & MAINTENANCE CARE

Preventative or maintenance chiropractic care is a completely optional, no-pressure choice that many of our patients make to help stay mobile, comfortable, and active. Much like visiting the dentist for regular check-ups, these sessions aim to catch small issues before they become bigger problems and support your overall spinal health. Whether it’s once a month or a few times a year, ongoing care can help you feel your best — especially if you have a physically demanding job, a history of injury, or simply want to keep your body in good working order.

Committed to bringing you better health and a better way of life by teaching and practicing the true principles of chiropractic.
